Product Description
Advantages of 3M™ Vibration Damping Tape 434
- Vibration damping properties make this tape an ideal choice for a variety of applications in industries such as aerospace, transportation, appliance, general industrial and more
- Cold temperature resistance allows tape to perform at extremely low temperatures (-76°F/-60°C)
- Resists weather and UV degradation, ensuring performance in many difficult applications
- Linered construction offer diecutting capabilities
- Viscoelastic acrylic polymer adhesive is optimized to convert vibrational energy to negligible heat that readily dissipates
3M™ Vibration Damping Tape 434 is a low temperature, silver, dead soft aluminum foil tape. The constraining layer is coated with a pressure sensitive viscoelastic polymer on a blue polyethylene easy release liner. 3M™ Vibration Damping Tape 434 absorbs and dissipates vibration and reduces noise. It is useful for a variety of applications in the aerospace, automotive, construction, appliance and MRO industries.
Cold Temperature Durability
3M™ Vibration Damping Tape 434 is 7.5 mil thick, silver, dead soft aluminum foil backed tape. It is designed to reduce noise and absorb and dissipate vibration, primarily by reducing structure-borne noise in metal and composite panels and support structures. 3M™ Vibration Damping Tape 434 can achieve effective damping with as little as 10% surface coverage. This tape is durable. It will resist moisture, weather, UV degradation and flame. 3M™ Vibration Damping Tape 434 is a long aging, chemical resistant tape that offers good performance over a wide range of temperatures, particularly lower temperatures. It will perform in temperatures as low as -76°F/-60°C. The linered construction provides the ability to die cut this product.
Recommended Applications
- Reduce unwanted resonant noise, vibration and fatigue in metal panels and support structures
- Lower temperature aerospace and industrial applications
- Chutes, conveyors, bins, metal shop boxes and tables where metal contact with materials can result in unwanted vibration
- General noise reduction applications
- Linered for die-cutting to match parts for aerospace applications – F.A.R. 25.853(a)
Reduce Noise and Fatigue
3M™ Vibration Damping Tape 434 features a pressure sensitive viscoelastic acrylic polymer adhesive which is optimized to convert vibrational energy to negligible heat that readily dissipates to help reduce irritating noise. It also reduces vibrational fatigue to decrease wear and tear on parts and lower the risk of part loosening and displacement. The adhesive is pressure sensitive for easy self-fixturing application.
