3M™ Perfect-It™ Foam Compounding Pads are 3M’s highest-performing foam compounding pads for refining and removing sand scratches from automotive painted finishes. A foam face pattern provides consistent surface contact and holds compound to reduce slinging. These single-sided pads feature insets for easy centering on rotary polishers, and Hookit™ hook-and-loop attachment for easy change-outs.

3M™ Perfect-It™ Foam Compounding Pads combine features that save time and money and improve overall results of your auto body compounding work. 3M designed the foam face pattern to maintain consistent surface contact for maximum efficiency. They also designed it to hold compound to limit slinging. This 4-in.-diameter pad is sized for a variety of specific applications including working with cured, hard or medium finish paint, denibbing, scratch removal and refining P1200 or finer sand scratches even in confined spaces. A reverse taper protects the edge of the backing pad, helping reduce the chance of damage to the automotive finish. Single-sided construction features the Hookit™ attachment to save time and preserve pad life.

3M developed these foam pads as part of the Perfect-It™ Paint Finishing System to keep pace with evolving paint and clear coat technologies. Foam compounding pads are generally less aggressive and produce a finer finish than wool pads, ideal for the critical compounding steps of the paint refinishing process. 3M™ Perfect-It™ Foam Compounding Pads are best used in conjunction with Perfect-It™ EX Rubbing Compound and feature a built-in inset for quick attachment to rotary and random orbital polishers. 3M recommends using this pad with 3M™ Buffer, Pistol Grip, 3 Inch, PN28354.
